Default 2001 Acura 1.7 seatbelt sensor issues, SRS light on dashboard on all the time.?

My hubby has an Acura 1.7 EL and he has had the SRS light on for a while now and we finally had to take it into the Honda repair shop since his engine light went on. No probs with the engine but they told him the SRS light is on because the sensor in his driver side seatbelt is either dying or dead. To replace JUST the part it will cost $450 plus labor, waaaaaaaaay too much for our budget. Anyone know where to get something like this cheap? The car is a 2001 model and we own it so its not under warranty or lease.

Thanks
