Your question can easily be answered by simply reading this modern parable:A TALE OF TWO COMPANIESA Japanese company (Toyota) and an American company (Ford) decided to have a canoe race on the Missouri River . Both teams practiced long and hard to reach their peak performance before the race.On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile. The Americans, very discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the reason for the crushing defeat. A management team made up of senior management was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate action.Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people rowing and 1 person steering, While the American team had 8 people steering and 1 person rowing.Feeling a deeper study was in order, American management hired a Consulting company and paid them a large amount of money for a second opinion. They advised, of course, that too many people were steering the boat, while not enough people were rowing. Not sure of how to utilize that information, but wanting to prevent another loss to the Japanese, the rowing team's management structure was totally reorganized to 4 steering supervisors, 3 area steering superintendents and 1 assistant superintendent steering manager. They also implemented a new performance system that would give the 1 person rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder. It was called the 'Rowing Team Quality First Program,' with meetings, dinners and free pens and a certificate of completion for the rower. There was discussion of getting new paddles, canoes and other equipment, extra vacation days for practices and bonuses. The next year the Japanese won by two miles. Humiliated, the American management laid off the rower (a reduction in workforce) for poor performance, halted development of a new canoe, sold the paddles, and cancelled all capital investments for new equipment. The Money saved was distributed to the Senior Executives as bonuses and the next year's racing team was "out-sourced" to India .Sadly, the End.However, sad, but oh so true! Here's something else to think about: Ford Has spent the last thirty years moving all its factories out of the US, Claiming they can't make money paying American wages. Toyota has spent the last thirty years building more than a dozen plants inside the US The last quarter's results:Toyota makes 4 billion in profits while Ford racked up 9 billion in losses.

Funny, Most Hondas are made in America by American workers. They would beg to differ with you on this subject.American cars are very poorly constructed. This is a fact not an opinion. There are common quality issues with American cars as a whole.Example 1- A friend of mine is a general manager for a Ford dealer. He took me out to the lot and showed me the Ford 500's and their issues. The seams don't line up in most of the cars, the windshields weren't glued correctly and the best part is that if you look at the trunk, our American car maker (Ford) decided to cut costs and upon putting the trunk lid on did not weld the trunk lid to the hinges. They just fold the metal around it! He has been in the business for 30 years and he worked for Nissan and he says that 1/3 of all the Fords he has seen in the past 6 months wouldn't make it past inspection (Ford Trucks excluded). The actual question you pose is quite stupid. When will you learn that youre not protecting your American auto company if you keep buying them, they will keep making them. Quality is going up because people are tired of junk for 30k. My wifes 2000 Honda Accord has 160k on it and it drives and rides like an American car with 35k on it.

When America learns we have a problem with gas prices. And the economical vehicles American companies make are crap. (ie: Dodge Neon, Ford Focus, Chevy Cavalier, etc.) And they can't compare to their Japanesse counter parts or European for that matter. If I had the money I'd much rather own a GT Mustang, or one of the new Camaros coming out, oh and also the new Dodge Challenger! But for the most part a good American car is alot more expensive than a good foriegn car, so what do you think people are gonna buy? And what good are you benefitting from buying a American car compared to a Japanesse? Are you really helping yourself? And have you not realized all the jobs people here in America have lost their jobs because our beloved "Big 3" car companies are now making their cars in Mexico and what not? And did you know companies like Toyota are building factories here which gives us Americans jobs! I think that's more important than an American based company making money. It's about the people here, not the corperations! And if that makes me selfish then by God I'll be selfish then. If the government needs me to by American made vehicles, then they can help me by things like lower gas prices, or regulate them better. Or how bout a health care plan like Canada's? I think the government could do alot more for us, and I know it's not gonna happen because people are too greedy. So I'm gonna buy whatever car I want to, and people like yourself can just get over it.

When I first read your question I was so furious at your ingnorance that I was going to flame you with facts. However, after reading several answers from other users I realized that your idiotic comment has been completely obliterated by facts presented by other members, and you have been so completely humiliated by the truth that others have spoke that you most likely have realized what a complete ignorant idiot you are. Therefore, there is no reason for me to say anything else than what I have. So all thats left to say is: Your an ignorant uninformed blithering fool, and you have been put in your place several times over. Good day, and try to use more than 1% of your brain next time you muster up the mental power to attempt to think.
