Never believe anything about imrpoving MPG from after market products. Tornado air, K&N, etc.
Even with no air filter, you would actually LOSE MPG, but gain HP.
K&N simply lets the vehicle breathe better, but restricts just enough to make it viable.
Remember, K&N filters need to be oiled (oil packs allow particles to stick to the material) and CLEANED often.
Regular filters can be tossed away every 12k miles and replaced for $10.
I think if anything, your MPG will stay almost exactly the same.
Besides, you drive a Civic which already gets around 30mpg average. Dont waste the money. (unless you plan on keeping the car for more than 10 years so the filter can pay for itself, *lifetime warranty*)
