Unhappy 1988 Honda Accord - I have a question about a voltage regulator???...?

Hi,

I have a question about a voltage regulator...

I have an '88 Honda Accord 2.0L which the alternator
on it is running at 65 Amps, but I have an alternator
off of a '90 Toyota Supra 3.0L runs at 70 Amps...

(Or I should say the voltage regulators are running at 65/70 A)

Now I believe I need to change the voltage regulator because the first time I start it up in
the morning - no battery light, but then when
I go to start it up for the second time and
every time after that during the day - battery light

If I rev it up to 3,000 RPM's or more
the light flickers/goes out at 3,500.

Can I replace the 65 Amp voltage regulator with a 70 Amp one?
(What would the difference(s) be?)

Do you believe that is my problem?

Thanks!

P.S. The light goes out at 3,500, but
anything less comes back on!
