Default What's the lever underneat the steering wheel? '89 Honda Accord) It has an...

...arrow on it,youpull down&pushback I'm not sure what happened. But, I recently bought a 1989 Honda Accord. There's a lever under the steering wheel and I'm not sure what it's for. You pull it out and push it back in. I haven't noticed any difference in anything when I do that. Sorry for any confusion in my original question. Maybe this will clear it up? (This is my first time posting and I'm not sure exactly how to do this.)

That is your steering column tilt lever, raises or lowers the steering wheel to where it is most comfortable for you. Pull the lever down and then pull down or lift up on steering wheel.

Lock lever back into place when you have it adjusted to where you want it.

It's not the steering column. It doesn't lock and the steering column doesn't move at all. Solid as a rock. The lever feels soft, it doesn't lock and it's slow to return to its resting position.

I've always wondered what that stupid thing does too...

It doesn't allow the steering wheel to move, it
doesn't control the choke, not sure why it's there!

No difference in anything when it gets pulled...

Like has been said, it goes back slowly somewhat too
and it has an arrow on it for some reason.

Beats me!
