Default crashed honda broken cv shaft

hey everybody i am new to this forum and hondas in general. However i need some help to get back on the road and would appreciate it quite a bit. I crashed into a guardrail, popped the tire and broke a cv shaft. Now, the car will not move, the end of the shaft was still in the trans, and the driver side axle appears fine. my question is, is this normal or was there serious damage done? Like i say i am new to this type of car (front wheel drive in general) so i dont know if i am just seeing this as worse than it really is or not. sorry if this is a repeat question but i dont have easy access to a computer and i just need a little help thanks a lot.
