Default HID headlight conversion for Honda Civic (2003) HELP??

I'm trying to get the "hyper white" or "xenon blue" light bulbs on my car so that way it looks brighter at night. I don't understand the HID numbers, there's 4500K there's 5000K and 8000K and so on...i'm afraid that i will buy them and it won't work out... Help me out with any suggestions, pros or cons to this project! Thanks!

The color temperature is basically immaterial; the higher numbers are bluer but the difference is minor. What is not minor is the price tag: it will cost you a bundle to do this -- probably do bad damage to a $1000 bill.
