Default 1997 Honda Civic EK - Sunshine State

The EK has always been a favorite chassis among Honda enthusiasts. Although it is only one of the many EK's out there, Jonas Amos's 97 Civic truly sticks out among the masses. His project (Sunshine) has not stopped since the day he purchased the car. It has been and still is being built and torn apart relentlessly. Jonas builds his car for what he wants, regardless of hype, trends, or haters. The car is a perfect mix of functional performance parts (including a jdm ITR motor, cusco roll cage, rc400cc injectors, Zeal b6 coilovers and more..), along with an undeniable style that is all his own.

Although the glossy Phoenix yellow paint looks like it hasn't seen light outside the showroom floor, the cars mileage is something I know about first hand. When offered to be featured on JTuned, as well as participate in the Chinatown Showoff in January, Jonas couldn't help but take up the offer. Jonas, our friend Zivan, and myself drove the car from Seattle to Los Angeles on a 2000+ mile non-stop adventure. With no back seat, or radio. All we had to listen to was each others babble, and VTEC through a Toda Header and a Spoon Exhaust system. Upon finally getting down there, the car took home 2nd place for Best Honda in the Chinatown Showoff.

The trip was a great experience and I was honored to get the opportunity to help shoot the car for JTuned. You will undoubtedly see this car again. Whether it is at the autocross, road course, drag strip, showroom floor, or somewhere on I-5 in the middle of ****ing nowhere on its way to LA. I'm sure we will be back sooner or later. Oh and by the way... had give a shout to JONUTS.com and KJ.xstepdesigns.com Thanks Jason, Mike, Fred and all the rest involved with JTuned.
