Default How much is it for a Honda service?

My 1 year old Honda Jazz is due it's first service. It has done less than 10,000 miles and I'm planning on taking it to the dealer (Springfield Honda, Sunderland) to have it done. Roughly how much can I expect to pay? I don't want to phone up to book it then then be shocked at the price. If I want to keep a full service history on the car (for higher trade in value) do all services have to be done by Honda or can I shop around?

Thanks in advance!

There's nothing wrong with the car, I drive it pretty well. I shouldn't need any repairs on it, it's only 11 months old!!

I don't know how it works in the USA but in the UK it is usually a lot more expensive to have a dealer service than to go to an independent mechanic. I doubt your car needs anything more than an oil & filter change (which is the main part of the service on any car) and you can get that done anywhere. It takes around 5000 miles before your car is even broken-in.

FSH does maintain the value of the car but it depends how long you're going to keep the car; if you are planning to trade it in in two or three years time then a FDSH (full dealer service history) is better than an FSH (which is a service that may be done by independent mechanics); if you're planning to keep the car long-term then the thousands of dollars you spend on servicing may not justify the couple of thousand bucks you get for the car when you sell it in 10 years time.

My first service was free, but the next service u have to pay & the price usually depends on if they have to replace parts, oil change, etc. I usually just go to my honda dealer for service & have them sign the history book (for records & like u said for higher trade in value). I dont have an estimate($$$) since it all depends, I thnk, if they find something wrong with your car.
